This coastal region of Portugal has some of Europe’s most beautiful beaches.

When you think of Europe in the heat of the summer months, you probably saying no thank you!  I am excited to share our weekend trip that we have planned for our October coworking/ shared office space / working vacation / retreat. This description is a little too long, I know – but I have discovered the word coworking still brings a confused look to people I tell about my dream of building this working, traveling community for women over 40.

I have recently created a community group on LinkedIn which you are welcome to join – it is a space to share what might encourage others on this journey of working from home or working remotely.  Sometimes that can be lonely and sometimes we get distracted, and sometimes we just need a balance of work and fun!  Would you make the effort to drive 20 or 30 minutes from home if you knew that you would be inspired by other people working in the shared office space?  It certainly is a large world wide community that is growing and it is not only for millennials. Check out the 50 best coworking spots in America!

But let me come back to what we have planned for October.

For October we will meet in Lisbon for 2 weeks, and depending on the feedback from our May trip, will pick the best two spots to work from. Our May coworking trip will certainly help solidify which are the really cool workspaces to be in, as we will be working from at least 4 different shared office spaces in Lisbon and Cascais. If you want to check some of the coworking spaces out online – take a look at LACS, HEDEN, and a little ocean location Cowork Cascais.

But life is not all about work and no play, right!  So let’s take a 3 hour train ride down south to the Algarve coast and spend a weekend in Faro. The peaceful cobbled streets of this pictureusqe  old town and nearby string of beautiful beaches make this capital city of the Algrave a perfect place to relax and October is an ideal month to visit. They say summer never really ends in the Algarve and you can enjoy the  quaint fishing villages overlooking the seaside cliffs and apparently some of the best sea food around.  A day trip to Albufeira or Lagos could be included and there are regular ferry services connecting Fargo with nearby islands, including Ilha Deserta.

Till my next post from Lisbon, thanks for reading and please do share with others who might like to join us.

I’m counting down the days, and I will be back in Lisbon with our community of women entrepreneurs, ready to work in our shared office space for two weeks! Will you join us next time? Visit my website at www.travellikealocal.today to find out more about our October trip.

I’d love to get to know other women who enjoy the coworking experience – let’s connect on LinkedIn | Pinterest | Facebook or Instagram
